Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Muhammad Arrafi Ali, is a Senior Investigation Officer at the Commercial Affairs Department’s Cross Border Cash Enforcement Branch.

He investigates and monitors people who carry more than $30,000 across Singapore’s borders and do not declare or wrongly declare the amount.

Money laundering is one of the crimes he helps to deter with his work.

Speaking to Police Life Magazine, he said his job is interesting because of the challenges each case brings and learning how to handle it.

While SSgt Arrafi’s work may not be as well known as Neighbourhood Police Centre officers or other investigation officers, his work contributes significantly to the mission of keeping Singapore safe and secure.

He is one of the six officers featured in Police Life Magazine.
