Retaining expertise by re-engaging retiring home team officers
About 150 junior officers and 30 senior officers retire every year, although many are physically fit and desire to continue contributing to Singapore’s safety and security landscape. At this year’s Home Team Promotion Ceremony held on 22 May 2013, the Ministry of Home Affairs revealed more of their engagement plans.

Police will train victim care volunteers and set up a mental health system to help Full-time Police National Servicemen adjust to policing work. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Mr S. Iswaran revealed these new initiatives at the 2013 Asian Conference of Criminal and Operations Psychology.
